Mary Lou Stanton

Mary Lou (Helme) Stanton (Skygazer) of Hopkinton, R.I. died peacefully Friday, March 03, 2017 at South County Hospital. Mary Lou was born July 17, 1936 in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. She was the wife of Philip Stanton and a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. She is survived by one son Earl C. Stanton of Hopkinton and two daughters Marnell H. Cash of Mashpee, MA and Terry Stanton-Brown of South Kingstown. She was a grandmother of 6 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. She leaves a son- in -law Earl Cash Jr. and daughter- in- law Katrina Stanton. She was the mother of the late Philip Lou Stanton (Poncho). Mary Lou was a life- long member of the Narragansett Indian Church Board.
