Mary Shibley

Mary J. Shibley, 85, of North Niantic Drive in Charlestown, RI, died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 21. She was the wife of the late Glenford M. Shibley. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Dr. John P. and Elsie M. (Brett) Shearer. She was a 1948 graduate of Harper Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit and attended Wayne State University. While living in East Greenwich, RI, she worked at the former Lying-In Hospital in Providence RI and later at Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI. Mrs. Shibley is survived by children Glenford J. and his wife Carol, Kevin J., Scott W. and his wife Mary, Brett N., Nathan R., Beth Wallander and her husband Steve, Lisa Arnold and her husband Joe, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Shibley also leaves a brother James Shearer of Waterford, Michigan. The funeral and burial will be private at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
