Mary E. Peno

Mary E. (Arnold) Peno, 75, of 681 Kingstown Rd., Wakefield, passed away pecefully at home Thursday. She was the wife of the late Joseph Peno. Born in South Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late Perry S. and Mary L. (Kinnecom) Arnold. Mrs. Peno worked as a hospital attendant at the former Joseph H. Ladd Center for several years. She was a member and assistant treasurer of the First Church of God, treasurer of the Senior Youth Association, president of Indian Run Village Club, former den mother of the Cub Scouts and a volunteer at Stere House Soup Kitchen. She leaves sons, Perry Peno of West Warwick, John Peno of Westerly, Shawn Peno of Providence and Troy Peno of Narragansett; daughters, Marian Ruth Hazard of Newport and Gertrude Peno of Fall River; a sister, Janice Dimon of South Kingstown; twenty grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren. She was sister of the late Alice Wilkinson. Visitation Wednesday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM in the First Church of God, 209 Allen Ave, Peace Dale. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wakefield. Donations may be made to First Church of God or Senior Youth Association.
