Mary E. (Hart) Johnson, 74, of Wakefield, died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of Russell H. Johnson. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Butler Sr. and Gertrude (Hart) Butler. Mrs. Johnson was a Registered Nurse at South County Hospital and various nursing homes for several years prior to raising her family. She was a member of Wakefield Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Plum Beach Garden Club, Rainbow Girls and a volunteer at South County Hospital. Besides her husband she leaves sons, Mark Johnson and his wife Janine of Wakefield, James Johnson and his wife Lisa of AZ; daughter in law Kim Johnson and her husband James McClarnon of West Kingston; grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Emily, Benjamin, Zachary, Travis, Russell and Jeffrey; great grandson, Robert Benjamin. She was the mother of the late Stephen Johnson; sister of the late Alden Butler, Arthur Butler Jr. and Eunice Kohl. The funeral will be held Monday at 10:00 AM in the Wakefield Baptist Church, 236 Main St., Wakefield. Burial will be in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
