Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, and friend to many. Mary “Nana” Etta Faucher, 98, of Wakefield passed away peacefully on her own terms in her bed on the night of February 19, 2021. Mary was born on January 10, 1923 to Henry and Nora (Carr) Lamphere in Richmond, Rhode Island. Mary had one brother Melvin Lamphere and one sister Stella Snow. Mary was married to Leo Faucher for 47 years before his sudden passing in September of 1991. During WWII, she worked in the mills and spent time as a homemaker while her children were growing up. She then began waitressing at Sweet Meadows and then the Larchwood Inn until she eventually retired. During retirement, Mary and Leo enjoyed traveling to Canada, Florida, Texas, Virginia, New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania Dutch County, often visiting family and friends along the way. Mary and Leo had two children, daughter Elaine Raitano and son James Faucher. Mary had four grandchildren, Michelle Desmarais and Melissa Faucher (Chris Orcutt), daughters of James and wife Wilaivan (Dale) Faucher. As well as Amanda and Guy Raitano, daughter and son of Elaine Raitano. Mary was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren; Michael Gama Jr, Matthew Gama (Amanda), Marissa Ortiz (Roberto), Damian Desmarais, and Jayson Desmarais, children of her granddaughter Michelle Desmarais. As well as Ariana, Cobin, and Aleena Raitano, children of grandson Guy Raitano and his wife Alisa Walkinshaw. Amazingly, she also had two great-great-grandchildren, Tatiana and Michael Gama III, daughter and son of great-grandson Michael Gama Jr and his wife Adriana Gama. Mary will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love for being with her family as much as possible. She was an avid reader, loved animals and always had a little bird named Peety. Relatives and Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held Thursday, February 25th at 1 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High St. Wakefield followed by private (invite only) burial at St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield.
