Mary A. Deluise

Mary A. DeLuise, 87, of Wakefield, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020. She was the wife of the late Frank J. DeLuise, to whom she was married for 65 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Ruth (Rooney) Appleby. She was the sister of the late James, William, and Robert Appleby. With sensitivity, great compassion, and loving support, Mary took great care of her family and home. Mary was loving, kind, generous and always thoughtful of her grand and great grandchildren. Mary had many hobbies and interests. She was an accomplished artist, specializing in watercolors and pastels. Her work was displayed at the South County and Wickford Art Associations, as well as South County Hospital and various local businesses. Mary enjoyed nature. She was an avid reader and loved library visits and browsing in bookstores. Mary is survived by her children, Susan DeLuise of New Bedford, MA, Frank DeLuise of Wakefield, Kathleen Blackledge and her husband Robert of Seekonk MA, David DeLuise and his wife Deborah, of Wakefield, their children, Michael, Joseph, Joshua (Stacy), and Jacob (Jaime). Marie Lacerda and her husband Carlos, of North Kingstown, their children, Sarah and Emma. Paul DeLuise and his wife Rebecca, of Wakefield, their children, Caleb and Jared. Michael DeLuise and his partner Deborah Reilly of Newport, his children, Zachary and Matthew. Mary most enjoyed her family, spending time with her children, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mary will be dearly missed by us all. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Wickford Art Association, 36 Beach St., North Kingstown, Rhode Island, 02852. Due to State of Rhode Islands restriction of public gatherings, funeral services will be private.
