Mary Helen Combs, 90, of Narragansett, died Thursday. She was the beloved wife of the late Clayton Combs, Sr. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Philip E. and Catherine E. (Smith) Moore, and step daughter of the late John W. Donnelly. Mrs. Combs was the secretary to the principal at South Kingstown High School for many years before retiring. She was an active member of St. Peters By-the-Sea Episcopal Church and a member of its St. Agnes Guild, and was a Worthy Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. In her spare time she enjoyed activities at the Narragansett Senior Center and spending time with her family. Surviving are four children, Clayton Combs, Jr. of Peace Dale, Robert Combs of Narragansett, Jacqueline Boudreaux of Mandeville, LA, and Jennifer Zaroogian of South Kingstown; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; and two brothers, Philip Moore and Harold Moore. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM at St. Peters By-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 72 Central Street, Narragansett. Burial will follow in Wood River Cemetery, Wyoming. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Sunday, 3-5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 2115 South County Trail, West Kingston, RI 02882.
