Mary Pat Bamford (Kehoe), 95, of South Kingstown, RI died peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Calvin E. Bamford for 57 years. Born in Evanston IL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Kehoe. A graduate of Webster University – Class of 1950, she went to work in a Chicago hospital as a dietician where she met the patient of her dreams who would turn out to be her future husband. They were married in 1957 and eventually settled in Pittsburgh, PA where they lived for over 40 years. After which they moved to Rhode Island to be closer to family and friends.
Over the decades, Mary Pat worked tirelessly as an advocate for her special needs daughter Kathleen and many others. She was also an avid reader, quite the quilter and loved ceramic painting.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Mark and Kerri Bamford, Paul and Mary Bamford, and Joseph and Lynn Bamford; a daughter, Kathleen M. Bamford; and six grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. The oldest of three, she is survived by her brother, Daniel Kehoe and her sister Catherine Marheineke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday March 8, 2024, at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett, RI. A live streaming of Mary Pat’s Mass can be found at https://livestream.com/stm/stm-funeral. A burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston, RI. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
