Martin J. Mandel, father, and friend, passed away on July 7th, 2023, at the age of 70. He was born on March 27th, 1953, in Brooklynn, New York to the late Paul Mandel and Evelyn (Nissenbaum) Mandel . Martin leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories.
Martin's dedication to his family and friends was unwavering. He joins in Heaven his Beloved son Jeffery M. Mandel. He is survived by his son and daughter, both of South Kingstown James Chambers, Kasey (Chambers) Abedi, her husband Kevan and their daughters Kinley & Karley, Sister Rodelle Palomo and her husband Bill of Long Island NY.
Martin Mandel founded Mandel and Mandel Tax Service with his then wife Kristine Mandel. Martin helped numerous individuals and businesses navigate complex financial matters with expertise and compassion. He was lovingly known as the traveling taxman by his many clients throughout New England. Prior to establishing Mandel and Mandel Tax Service Martin graduated from The Culinary Institute of America. He was the executive chef for several restaurants in New York, California and Rhode Island. In addition, Martin dedicated his time and energy to the local theater community, lending a helping hand at the Theater by the Sea. He also recently became a member of The Elks Lodge.
Beyond his professional and community contributions, Martin was a loving Papa to his two granddaughter Kinley and Karley Abedi. He showered them with love and shared in their joys and accomplishments. Martin's love and support will forever remain in the hearts and memories of his granddaughters.
Martin Mandel will be greatly missed not only by his family and friends but also by the wider community. Martin's passing leaves a void that will never be filled. However, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those fortunate enough to have known him. His genuine warmth, infectious laughter, and kindness will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in his life.As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his remarkable life and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. May his soul find eternal peace.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog Stella and cat Abby.
A visitation will be held in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, located at 88 Columbia Street in Wakefield, on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home immediately following.
