Mark T. Selwyn, 71, of Exeter passed away suddenly on January 29, 2024 at Kent County Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Diane Selwyn, for 41 years. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jean Selwyn.
Mark was a true family man, who spent most of his time with his wife, children and grandsons. He would love to travel to Maine and New Hampshire annually, Disney World was also a go to family destination. He loved being outdoors fishing, camping, and gardening. He was also an avid animal lover, adopting many pets. He most enjoyed his time cooking and hosting large family dinners. Mark worked as a chef for many years before changing careers to drive tractor trailers. After retiring he became a groundskeeper at Quidnessett Country Club.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind his children, Monica J. Selwyn and partner Edward Hazard Sr. of Providence, Joseph T. Selwyn and wife Claudia of Wakefield ;grandsons, Jaeden & Justin Sampson and Eddie Hazard Jr. ;brothers, Michael Selwyn and wife Debbie of Warwick, Joseph Selwyn and wife Diane of West Warwick ;sister, Jeannie Costa of Wickford. He was the brother-in law of Ann Marie Laroche of Bristol, Nancy and Paul Caruso of Bristol, Gaetono Laroche of New York and the late Antonio Laroche of Bristol. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 5th from 9:30-10:30 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI. Following visitation, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in Christ the King Church, 180 Old North Road, Kingston, RI. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, George Schaeffer St, Peace Dale, RI.
