Marjorie Coffin

December 2, 1922 — July 2, 2016

Marjorie Coffin, 93 of Wakefield, passed away Saturday. She was the wife of the late Harold F. Coffin. Born in Auburn, MA, she was a daughter of the late Carl P. and Selma (Anderson) Larson. Mrs. Coffin served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, achieving the rank of Corporal. She was a Food Service Supervisor at the University of Rhode Island, until retiring. She was a member of the American Legion Post 39 and the AFCMC Retiree Union Chapter 94 She is survived by six children, Sharon Carney of Peace Dale, Nancy Stranahan of New Jersey, Harold L Coffin of Narragansett, Dennis Coffin of Richmond, VA, Debra O’Neill of Wakefield, and Norma Jean Norris of Thornville, Ohio; twenty grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Corrigan of Worcester, MA and Mildred Chabot of Ashland, MA; and three brothers, Donald Larson, Carl P. Larson, Jr., both of Worcester, MA, and Everett Larson, of Florida. She was the mother of the late Gregory Coffin and sister of the late Viola Corrigan, Eleanor Howe, Evelyn Willard, Mildred Chabot, Robert Larson, and Roy Larson. A committal service with military honors will take place 10:30 am Friday at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Women Marines Association, P.O. Box 377, Oaks, PA,19456-0377.
