Marise Charles

Marise Charles, born Marise Gourdet on March 12, 1951, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, peacefully passed away on August 7, 2023, in Wakefield, Rhode Island. She was 72 years old.

Marise was a loving and vibrant soul, known for her passion for painting, cooking, and bringing joy to her loved ones through her sense of humor. Her warm and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed.

Throughout her life, Marise dedicated herself to helping others as an Interpreter and a Certified Nurses Aid for 35 years. Her compassionate and selfless nature made her a beloved member of the healthcare community, and she brought comfort and care to those in need.

Marise is survived by her loving daughters, Milly Charles and Maghnee Gomes. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Pedro Gomes, along with her grandchildren Janessa, Josslyn, Sanai, Skylah, Aaron, Mikey, Derek, Rena, Pedro Jr., Corey, Keirsten and 5 great-grandchildren.

Marise's memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.

May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the memories they shared with her.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023, 1 -3 pm, followed by a funeral service at 3 pm, in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will be private.
