Marion Hope Marceau

Marion Marceau of Cards Pond Road Wakefield, Rhode Island, died on November 6th, 2016 surround by her loving family. Marion peacefully passed at her home in Matunuck overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean she so enjoyed. Originally from Fair Lawn section of Pawtucket, daughter to Victor & Irene Oliver. She attended Bryant University and received her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Rhode Island. Marion was a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in both Rhode Island and Connecticut. She helped numerous individuals, couples & families through her work. Marion was a counselor at Connecticut College in New London, CT from 1997 to 2001. Marion also had a private practice in New London, Stonington & Mystic from 1997 to 2011. Marion was an avid reader, with an insatiable appetite for knowledge. She was a world traveler and adventurer. However, Marion loved to spend most of her time either in her perennial garden around her property or on walks on the beach in front of her home. Marion was mother to 2 children, Michelle Marceau, who sadly passed in 2013 and Christian Marceau. She was Mimi to her 2 grandchildren who were the light of her life, Ava and Eric Marceau. She is also survived by her 4 stepdaughters; Rose Marie, Carolyn, Stephanie, and Leslie. Marion was predeceased by the love of her life Ray Poirier and long- time friend Bob Straw. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday November 12, 2016 at St. Romuald Chapel, 61 Atlantic Avenue Matunuck.
