Marion Baker (LaBelle), 74, formerly of Wyoming, RI, died Friday, March 4, 2016, after an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mamie (Ricci) LaBelle and the step-daughter of the late Mildred Lister LaBelle. Ms. Baker is survived by her beloved daughters, Kimberley Rohm of Providence and Karen Carrigan of West Kingston and her son-in-laws, Kyle Rohm and Craig Carrigan; cherished grandchildren, Elsa and Aidan Rohm, Jillian Grimes and Catherine Carrigan; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Lucille LaBelle, sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Al Scheibenpflug, her brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Joanne LaBelle and seven nieces and nephews. Ms. Baker worked for the University of Rhode Island in the Alumni Information Office for over 20 years. She was a graduate of North Kingstown High School. She was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension in Wakefield and a member of the St. Mary’s Episcopal Church Women. She served on the Chariho School Committee, was a volunteer with the Rhode Island Hospital Guild Association and Child Find. A lifelong resident of South County, she was a frequent visitor to Ogunquit, Maine. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2016, 9-10 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, followed by a funeral service at 11 am in the Church of the Ascension, 370 Main St., Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ms. Baker’s memory to the Church of the Ascension discretionary fund.
