Marilyn Ann Maley

Marilyn A. Maley, 78, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016. Born in Gouverneur, New York, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Margaret (Nolan) Maley. Miss. Maley graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1959, where she was a member of Phi Bata Kappa, Phi Sigma, and Kappa Delta. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Rochester in 1963. Miss Maley was a Scientific Research Grant Assistant at the University of Rhode Island for 27 years before retiring in 1999. She is survived by her beloved friend, Virginia H. Champlin of Wakefield; her nieces by heart, Patricia Finelli and Bethany McGuire; her brother, Richard Maley of Oregon; a niece and two nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at 10 am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 113 High St., Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours Wednesday, August 24, 2016, 5-7 pm in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care Rhode Island, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
