Marilyn Marie Haxton

Marilyn Marie (Mellon) Haxton, 79, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013 surrounded by her family and friends. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Peter F. and Agnes (Hobson) Mellon. Married for 53 years, she was the much loved wife of John Joseph Haxton. She was the devoted sister to Pete Mellon and Lorraine (Stephen) Kane. Besides her husband, she is survived by her six children; Dale Marie (Gary) Monnier, Timothy Paul Haxton, Jacklyn Ann (Jay) Dedrick, Colleen Frances (Joseph) Salvatore, John Joseph (Amy) Haxton Jr., and Robert James (Dana) Haxton; fourteen grandchildren, Justin, Shannon, Marilyn, Christine, Brandon, Peter, Matthew, Megan, Jack III, Aidan, Drew, Hannah, Moira and Quinn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Pt. Judith Rd., Narragansett. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 28 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Should friends desire, donations may be made to The Christian Brothers Center, 635 Ocean Road, Narragansett, RI 02882. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Wakefield.
