Marie J. Horan

HORAN, MARIE J., 75, of Narragansett, RI passed away Wednesday with her three daughters by her side. Known for her loving and giving spirit, she was the wife of the late John “Chris” Horan. Marie graduated from College of St. Elizabeth Convent Station, NJ and after a career in teaching she raised her family. She returned to the workforce and was employed for many years by Reading Co-Operative Bank, Reading, MA. She and Chris retired to Narragansett where she was an active member of Schooner Cove Homeowners Association; ministries at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church; Indian Run Garden Club; Book Club and Card Ladies of Schooner Cove. Marie was an avid supporter of St. Elizabeth’s College Alumni Association. In addition to many dear relatives and friends Marie is survived by three daughters: Joan Fisher and her husband Daniel of Ft. Wayne, IN; Mary Ellen Horan of Reading, MA; and Catherine Gray and her husband Michael of Reading, MA. She had eight grandchildren who were her “sunshines”: Alex, Andrew and Matthew Fisher; Rebecca and Sarah Crowley; and Thomas, Joshua and Madeleine Gray. The funeral will be 8:45 AM Monday from the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Pt. Judith Road, Narragansett . Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-6 PM.
