Margaret Yemma

Margaret Yemma, 84 of Kersey Road, died at her residence on Sunday. She was the wife of the late Frank Yemma. Born in Peace Dale, she was a daughter of the late Matteo and Pauline (Martella) Saccia. Mrs. Yemma was a member of the URI Gardner’s Club, and a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and was a life-long resident of Peace Dale, where she and her sister lived next to each other for 84 years. She is survived by three children, Rodney F. Yemma of Wakefield, Brian L. Yemma of Westerly and Lynn Ann Carter of Peace Dale; a sister, Angela Manchester of Peace Dale; and six grandchildren, Leslie Rabe, Kristin Carter, Jessica Carter, Christopher Yemma, Brian Yemma, Jr. and Dillon Yemma. She was the grandmother of the late Rodney Yemma, Jr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
