Margaret A. Stewart

Margaret A. Stewart, 88, formerly of Wakefield, died Tuesday. She was the wife of the late Oscar Donald Stewart and the former wife of the late Hayward Anderson. Born in Woodstock, Connecticut, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Cady) Herideen. Mrs. Stewart enjoyed the beach, and working in her garden. She will be remembered most for loving life and spending time with her family. She is survived by four sons, Hayward C. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Holton, Maine, Stephen Anderson and his wife Lynne of Big Sky, Montana, Lawrence H. Anderson and his wife Eileen of West Kingston, and Donald Travis Stewart of Brooklyn, New York; a daughter Heather Lamphear of Cranston; Seventeen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a sister Ruth Stevenson of Putnam, Connecticut. She was the sister of the late Norma Tanner and Donald Herideen. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am Friday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are Thursday 5-7 pm.
