Margaret Moakler

Margaret Moakler, 83, of Damariscotta, Maine, and formerly of Wakefield, died Saturday, December 29. She was the beloved wife of the late Edmund J. Moakler. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Margaret (Oster) Powers. Midge was the mother of the late Mark Clarke, and is survived by daughters Catherine Ladd, Roberta Matteson, Margaret Cassidy, and step daughters Diane Cole and Caroline Le Strange. Midge was an attendant and bus driver at the former Ladd School. She was the first meter maid for the Town of Jamestown, served on the South Kingstown Democratic Committee, and took classes at URI extension. She enjoyed bike riding, feeding the geese, and her cat. A graveside service will be held, Saturday January 12 at 1 PM in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale.
