Margaret N. Hodshon

Margaret (Peggy) Nash Hodshon, 87, of Charlestown, RI, died peacefully on Sunday with her four children by her side. She was married to her late husband, William Hodshon, for 67 years. She is survived by her children, Jane Keane, William H. Hodshon Jr., Robert J. Hodshon, all of Charlestown, RI, and Barbara A. Hodshon of Bridgewater, CT; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her. She was predeceased by a son, James T. Hodshon. Born in Danbury, CT, Peggy was the daughter of the late James T. Nash and Alice Gilhuly Nash. She attended Danbury High School, after graduation she worked for the telephone company. Peggy and Bill summered in Charlestown for 25 years before making it their full time residence in 1985. Peggy enjoyed the beach and spent many days playing in the waves with her grandchildren. She was an avid card player and rarely missed her Wednesday canasta games with the ladies. Peggy and Bill enjoyed traveling in their early retirement. They also enjoyed big band music and classic movies. Peggy was a devoted member of Saint Mary Parish for over 27 years. She will be missed by many. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 9:30 am in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck Schoohouse Road, Charlestown. Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Danbury, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, South Team, 143 Main Street, Wakefield, RI, 02879.
