Margaret Fernsler, 100, of Peace Dale, died Tuesday. She was the wife of the late Frederick Fernsler. Born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Glenworth and India (Insley) Sturgis. Mrs. Fernsler was a 1933 graduate of Goucher Women’s College in Baltimore, MD. Mrs. Fernsler later graduated from Katherine Gibbs School and was a longtime legal secretary for law firms in the New York and New Jersey area. She was a member of the Kingston Congregational Church and it’s Women’s Fellowship. Margaret was an animal lover and an avid reader belonging to various book clubs. A memorial service is planned later at the Kingston Congregational Church. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Southern RI or Friends of the Peace Dale Library.
