Margaret (Brady) Churchville

January 2, 1935 — March 3, 2024

Margaret “Margy” (Brady) Churchville, 89, passed away on Sunday, March 3rd, 2024. Her husband Robert was by her side, as he had been during their 59 years of marriage.

Born in Providence to the late Dr. James J. and Frances Brady, Margy was the oldest of five children. She attended Elmhurst Academy, graduated from Rhode Island College, and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education from Bridgewater State University.

Teaching was her profession and joy. She gave so many kids a great start to their education, including schools in Rhode Island, Washington DC, as well as at the Convent of the Sacred Heart School in New York City.

She always valued learning, taking up piano lessons and painting later in life. She found this added to her appreciation of the performing arts, including music, theater, and dance.

A life-long athlete and competitor, Margy enjoyed figure skating and playing field hockey in her youth. As an adult she took up tennis, golf, and bridge, all of which she enjoyed with her many friends and family over the years.

Family was a top priority throughout her life. She was always there for anyone in need, and the strong family she leaves behind remains a testament to her commitment. She is survived by her eldest son Baxter, youngest son Patrick and his wife Sarah Champagne, grandchildren Cailin and Brady, and her younger sister Frances Caban and husband Clint.

She was predeceased by three brothers Dr. John F. Brady, Dr. James J. Brady Jr., and Patrick E. Brady.

Margaret will be dearly missed, fondly remembered, and thought of often.
