Marcia Mcvicker

Marcia McVicker died on January 14, 2023 at Newport Hospital at the age of 85. She was born and raised in the Mount Pleasant section of Providence by her parents, John J McVicker and Margaret Kilduff. She is predeceased by her brother, Jack and her sister, Maureen. Marcia leaves 8 nieces and nephews: Martha, Jack, Michael, Paul, Tricia, Maureen, Marcia Lynn and Jack and ten grandnieces and grandnephews. Marcia was an elementary teacher and reading specialist in Providence for many years. She received her bachelor and masters degrees from RIC.

Among her great accomplishments was her home in Narragansett which became a gathering place for the family. She also enjoyed many happy years with her sister in Tequesta, Florida. Marcia remained close to friends from Blessed Sacrament School, St Patrick's High School, her college years and teaching. She also enjoyed swimming in the ocean near Narragansett.

The family is grateful for the care Marcia received at St Clare's Home for the past several years. There will be a brief gathering in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. in Wakefield at 9:30 am on Saturday, January 28th, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 am in St Mary's Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett.
