Marcia Lea Johnson

January 31, 1955 — July 11, 2024

Marcia Lea “Rogers” Johnson of Charlestown, Rhode Island passed away on July 11th 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, RI on January 31,1955 to the late Mabel Claire Rogers and George Washington III. She was the Loving Wife of William H. Johnson Jr of Charlestown, RI.


Marcia was employed at The University of Rhode Island for over 30 years starting as a Custodian and then as a Dispatcher and then ultimately as The Supervisor of Parking Services for The university of Rhode Island Police Department. Prior to that Marcia had multiple other employment endeavors showing her family what hard work was all about.


She is survived by her children, Audra Robinson and her Husband Gary “Tyree” Robinson of Westerly, Rhode Island, Casey Champlin of Charlestown, Rhode Island, William Johnson III of Charlestown, Rhode Island and Kevin Johnson and his Wife Jenna Johnson of South Kingstown, Rhode Island. Marcia is also survived by her sister Jacqueline “Lisa’ Pierce-young. Marcia was also the loving Nana of 12 grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother Kevin Young, Karen Young, Sharlene “Rogers” Montaque and Paulette Littlejohn.


Calling hours for Marcia will be held Wednesday, July 17th from 9 to 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, followed by a funeral home service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
