Mae Grant Henneberry

Florence Mae Henneberry (Grant), 95, of Narragansett, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was the wife of the late John P. Henneberry. Born in Seekonk, MA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nellie (Locke) Grant.

Mae was a member of her beloved Church of the Ascension for 71 years; enjoyed traveling to many destinations including all 50 states, the British Isles, Italy and the Caribbean Islands; loved camping with John and their friends; friendship with neighbors was so vital in her life and had a special bond with her neighbor, Mimi Struck.

She is survived by her daughters, Jane Chadwick (Michael) of Wakefield, Susan DeVoe (Christopher) of Wakefield, daughter-in-law, Karen Tennien of CO; step-daughters, Celian Putnam of PA and Suzanne Costello of CA; step-daughter, Lynn Northup (Bill) of FL;; sisters, Peggy D’Alessio and Josephine Barney; grandchildren, Kurt DeVoe, Kyle DeVoe, Patricia Fuller (Joshua), Matthew Tennien (Mary), Kristin Salazar (Joshua), Michael Chadwick (Kate), Brian Chadwick (Brett), Kathryn Mahoney (Brian), Anne Putnam, Bonnie Putnam, Richard and Raymond (Leslie) Costello; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren 2 nieces; 2 nephews and her cousin, Margaret Ward (Richard) of England. She was the mother of the late Stephen and Brian Tennien and step-daughter, Mary Lou Bagnall.

A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 10 am in the Church of the Ascension, 370 Main St., Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
