Lynda Dowdell Tougas

Lynda Dowdell Tougas, 57, died Tuesday. Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of Rodger Dowdell of Wakefield and the late Mary (Parker) Dowdell, and grew up in East Greenwich. She served in the US Navy and graduated from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona, FL and also was a top graduate of the Officer Candidate School in Newport. She loved to cook and read. Lynda will be remembered for adoring her three sons and having a free spirit. Besides her father, she is survived by three sons; Sky Tougas of Wakefield, Sterling Tougas of San Francisco, CA, Storm Gordin of Wakefield; a granddaughter; Ciel Ray Tougas; her step-mother, Colette Dowdell of Wakefield; seven brothers and sisters; M. Diane Van Demark of Wakefield, Rodger B. Dowdell of University Park, FL, William D. Dowdell of Charlestown, David A. Dowdell of Wakefield, Steven P. Dowdell of Los Altos Hills, CA, Peggy Toth of Charlestown and Debbie Perry of Wakefield and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday 11 AM in the AVERY-STORTI Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
