Lynda A. Puglia, 81, of Narragansett, passed away on Thursday, July 3rd surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, Rhode Island on September 12, 1943, to her parents, the late Maynard and Hazel (Maynard) Smith. She was the devoted wife of Frank R. Puglia for 62 years.
Lynda will be remembered for the cherished “made with love” quilts she lovingly stitched for her family and friends, each one a testament to her care and creativity. Her loving support was felt at each of her grandchildren’s school, scouting events, games, meets, as well as family cruises and vacations.
Whether it was a day collecting seashells to paint, making crafts and personalizing steppingstones, or gathering for holidays filled with food, laughter and joy, Lynda always made time for her family.
Lynda loved going on boat rides in Salt Pond, summer concerts and plays, engaging in a game of high-low-jack and sharing treasured family recipes.
She enjoyed sewing her grandchildren’s Halloween costumes, often mending a cherished stuffed animal or shirt, and could always get a stain out of any piece of clothing with Lestoil. Lynda was often the women behind the camera, making sure she had lasting memories for her family.
Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her children, Lisa Puglia (Michael), Michael Puglia (Reeny), Frank J. Puglia (Mary), grandchildren, Ali (McKinley), Brianna (Chris), Haley (Jimmy), Mia (Justin), Tyler, Hayden, sister, Beverly Luz (David) as well as several loving nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Wayne Smith (Sherry).
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10th at 10:30 am in St. Mary Star of the Sea church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett, RI 02882. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research.
