Lucy A. Silva Mello

Lucy A. Mello (Silva), 94 of Charlestown, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Henry B. Mello. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Anthony M. and Virginia (Perry) Silva. Mrs. Mello enjoyed working with her late husband in the commercial fishing business, and then they owned and operated the Charlestown Package Store. She is survived by two children James Mello of Englewood, FL and Lynda Gombeyski of Charlestown; three grandchildren, James Mello, Anthony Mello, and Heather Daly; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan, James, Kyle and Katherine Rose Mello, and Tess Daly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Peace Dale. Visiting hours are at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield, Wednesday 5-7 PM.
