Lucy M. Marasco

January 30, 1921 — December 14, 2015

Lucy M. Marasco,, 94, peacefully entered eternal life from her Harbour Island home surrounded by the loving support of her family. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Lough (Darcy). She was the wife of the late Ralph J. Marasco Sr. and beloved mother of Carolyn Kanas and Nick of CA, James T. Marasco and Joan of RI, Marcia Lawrence and James of MD, Judith Procaccini, Ralph J. Marasco Jr. and Maria, Steven E. Marasco and Martina, Thomas R. Marasco and Cheryl ,and Joseph P. Marasco and Kendra all of RI. Mrs. Marasco is the loving, proud grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren . "Sister" to many and to the late Thomas Maguire and Thomas Lough. Lucy was born in North Providence in 1921 and resided there for 65 years before making Narragansett her permanent home. She attended St. Xavier High School in Providence. Lucy worked several interesting jobs in her adult life retiring from the General Electric Base Plant in Providence. The absolute focus of her life was providing loving and supportive home for her eight children. Lucy believed that we should enjoy life and traveled and visited friends and family through the US. Lucy and her husband Ralph Sr. enjoyed many winters in their Orlando home. Their great joy was hosting all who came to visit. One family friend described Lucy as “the most pleasant person he had ever met”. Her pleasant and loving spirt will be cherished forever by her large extended family, and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Mary Star of the Sea, Narragansett. Internment took place in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
