Lucille Greenwood Mars

Lucille G. Mars, 94 of Wakefield, died Tuesday. She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Kenneth T. Mars; they had been married for over 61 years at the time of his decease. Born in South Kingstown, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Marguerite (Fayerweather) Greenwood. Mrs. Mars was a lifelong member of the Peace Dale First Church of God, and along with her late husband, led the church for over 30 years. Mrs. Mars was the mother of the late Kenneth T. Mars, Jr., and sister of the late Dorothy G. Pyle, Earl Greenwood, Jr., and Elizabeth G. Brown. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 1-2 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the First Church of God, Wakefield. She was also a member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Church of God, 209 Allen Avenue, Wakefield, RI 02879.
