Louis Joseph Testa

December 14, 1945 — December 26, 2021

Louis Joseph Testa liked to live life like he drove his Harley - fast. Born on December 14, 1945, to mother Felicia Testa-Dart and father Louis Testa, he was rooted personally and professionally in Providence, Rhode Island. Growing up he would bring life to the streets of Providence with his boisterous personality and infectious smile. He was continually hustling and making new friends everywhere he went. His charisma and tenacity were something that could get him out of tight spots…well most of them. He courageously fought in the Vietnam War for two years and received the Bronze Star for bravery in battle. After the war, he received his undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island and got his master’s from Salve Regina. He continued onto a career focused on community improvement and was dedicated to positively influencing the lives of others. At the height of his career, he was the Executive Director of Nickerson Community Center, one of the oldest community centers in Rhode Island. He pioneered countless innovative programs for Veterans, adults, youths, and the elderly. In his adult life, he first married Shirley Volante Testa and had two kids, Lauren Testa and Nicholas Testa. He later married Kerry Hall-Testa and had a third child, Ana Felicia Testa. He was also a loving grandpa to his two grandchildren, Haley and Silas. Whether it was coaching sports, going on vacations, or being the Girl Scout cookie dad, he remained a presence in his family’s lives. We celebrate the vibrant life of Louis “Joe” Testa and raise a glass to the legacy he left. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 2nd, from 1-3 at Avery Storti Funeral Home located at 88 Columbia St, Wakefield, RI.
