Louis Colavecchio

Louis Colavecchio, 92, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, July 22 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Grace (Corso) Colavecchio for 44 years; father of Louis V. Colavecchio, MD and his wife Susan Taft-Colavecchio, MD; grandfather of Louis V.T. Colavecchio; brother of the late Angelina Houde and Anna Kennelly. Mr. Colavecchio was a WW II US Army Veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters and Silver Star. He was a finish carpenter for many years. He was a quiet, unassuming man who asked for and needed little in life but had an inner depth of courage and strength. He will be deeply missed but his many acts of selflessness and love will live always in the hearts of his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 27th at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Chapel, 2079 Matunuck School House Rd, Charlestown. Burial with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted at the request of Mr. Colavecchio. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Maria Colavecchio to the American Cancer Society.
