Lori Monroe, 63, of Warwick, passed away on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 at the HopeHealth Hospice Center in Providence. Born in South Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marlene (Brown) Monroe and maternal granddaughter of the late Ethel Babcock Wilcox and Ellison Tarzan Brown, and paternal granddaughter of the late Joseph "Nanana" Monroe and Madeline Johnson Monroe.

Lori was employed as a prep cook at South County Hospital and was a proud member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe.

She is survived by her three children, Jay Thunder Monroe and his wife Domonique, Chris Monroe and Jaron Monroe, five grandchildren, Tarius, Bayou, Marilyn, Sakari, and Jay Thunder, Jr., her brother Mike and Jeff Monroe and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mitch Monroe and Joe Monroe III.

Visitation for Lori will be held on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026 from 10 to 11 AM with a funeral home service to follow at 11 AM in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield. Burial will be private.
