Lois Marjorie Williams "For height or depth that words can't reach, God gave us music, the soul's own speech." Lois was born, the only child, to Marjorie Elizabeth Rhodes and Olaf William Harry Wennerberg, on April 11,1937, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Lois had the advantage of early piano and voice lessons that served her life-long vocation. Graduate of the Auburn, Massachusetts, High School, she obtained her BA from Augustana College in Christian Education and Voice Performance. In the Augie chorus she met the now Rev. Donald A. Williams; they married during his January semester break of 1960, and observed their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary this year. Lois used her Christian Education degree in working with children of special needs in Shelton Ct. and retired from the Narragansett School System having worked in the office of the director of special education. Her second vocation was her love of music, having organized and directed children's, adult and senior choirs and choruses. Lois was an organist and pianist, a soprano in choruses, and with her husband and daughters performed a countless variety of music programs. Music was her speech. Two daughters were born to the Williams family, Andrea and Kirsten: Andrea Williams, and her partner Andrew Mufano, of North Kingstown, and her two children, Joel Kovacs, and Shannon Kovacs, who preceded Lois in going from life to Life. Kirsten Coppa and her husband Christopher, of Narragansett, and their son Christopher. Lois went from life to Life on October 2nd, 2018, hours following a family eucharistic service of Word and hymns led by the Rev. Michael Lembke. Lois sang the hymns with her daughters and husband. A second eucharist service of celebrating Christ, and the remembering of Lois with family and friends, will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, on Sunday, October 14th, at 4pm . Gifts in memory of Lois may be contributed to Community MusicWorks, 1392 Westminster St, Providence, Rl 02909 or to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
