Lois A. Smith, 87, of West Kingston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday. She was the beloved wife of the late Rehuben B. Smith, Sr. Born in West Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Marion E. (Love) Tanner. She is survived by five children; Marilyn Rice of West Kingston, Barbara Bridges of West Kingston, Gerald Gaudlap of the Philippines, Joan Schaffer of Jamestown, and Henry Gaudlap of Florida; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was the mother of the late Rehuben B. Smith, Jr., grandmother of the late Robert Ferbert, Jr., and sister of the late Byron Tanner and Sarah Gaudlap. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kindred Hospice, 2374 Post Road, Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
