Obituary

On Friday, February 20th, surrounded by her family, Lois M. Madden, 93 of 31 Crosshill Dr. Narragansett passed away peacefully at South County Hospital. Born in Warwick to Gustave and Emily Forsman She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Norman Madden.

Lois is survived by her daughters; Karen Mc Peake (Barry), Susan Malley (Dennis), Nancy Weber and Gail Cirelli, as well as her nine grandchildren: Ryan Mc Peake (Sarah), Katelyn Winter (Steven), Shannon Bouchard (Eric), John Weber (Kayla), Briana Malley, Suzanne Cook (Kevin), Michael Cirelli, Brandon Malley, Nicholas Cirelli, and nine great grandchildren. Lois is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Donald and Gustave Forsman, and son-in-law Francis Weber.

Lois loved Sunset Shores and all of her many friends and neighbors. She was often referred to as "The quahog queen" in her younger days on the pond. Lois loved playing cards with her many friends, loved to throw a party for almost any occasion, and numerous trips to the casino. Lois could always be found with a book in her hand while lounging in the sun. She was the owner of the Pickle Barrel restaurant in Warwick. Later working for many years at CVS Wakefield.

Lois and Norman spent their later years traveling including; two cross country car trips, winters in South Padre Island and Florida.

The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to South County Home Health and Narragansett Fire and Rescue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 27th, 2026 at 10 AM in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 864 Point Judith Road, Narragansett. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations can be to RI Special Olympics or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
