Lloyd T. Whitford

Lloyd T. Whitford, 96, of Matunuck, passed away Thursday. He was the beloved husband of the late Louisa (Cashman) Whitford. Mr. Whitford was a Dairy Farmer for many years and was an active member of the Perryville Bible Church. He served honorably as a Tech Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corp 6th Aircraft Repair Unit during World War II, serving in the Southern Philippines Luzon. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Stars, and the American Theater Campaign Ribbon. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Patty and her husband William of Brooksville, FL; a son, John Whitford and his wife; grandchildren, Amy Darnell and her husband Brian, Jena Whitford, Seth Whitford and his wife Ariana, and Levi Whitford; and three great-grandsons. Visiting hours will be Monday from 10 am - 12 Noon at the Perryville Bible Church, followed by a service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in the Perryville Cemetery.
