Lisa Marie (Johnson) (Boucher) Sickler, 60, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the home she shared with her husband, Scott J. Sickler, in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
Deeply loved and widely respected, Lisa was known for her beauty, kindness, compassion, and understanding spirit.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Albert Emil Johnson and Therese (Perron) Johnson. Lisa graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, Massachusetts, and went on to earn a degree in Education from Worcester State College.
Lisa began her teaching career at North Brookfield Elementary School in North Brookfield, Massachusetts. On July 22, 1988, she married Alfred Boucher. The couple later relocated to Georgia, where they both enjoyed successful careers as educators with Fulton County Schools.
After the passing of her first husband, Lisa found love again and married Scott Sickler on December 21, 2015.
Lisa is survived by her husband Scott Sickler; her sister Laurie Johnson Dimambro and her husband Anthony Dimambro of Fenton, Michigan; nephews Joseph Dimambro and his wife Naomi Dimambro of Haslett, Michigan and Dominic Dimambro of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; niece Angeline Dimambro of Brooklyn, New York; great nieces: Stella and Saya Dimambro, (children of Joe and Naomi). In addition, she had special cousins Mike and James Pervier, as well as numerous other cousins. She was the niece of the late Bernadette Pervier.
Lisa’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus deeply and demonstrated that love in every aspect of her daily walk. Her radiant spirit touched countless lives, and her legacy of love continues to shine. She was devoted to her students, colleagues, and church family, embracing all with warmth and joy. Lisa found delight in reading, relaxing by the pool, and immersing herself in the world of Harry Potter. She was affectionately known as “Ms. Sickler” to generations of children, who loved her as much as she loved them.
Lisa also adored her three beloved cats, Butterscotch, Coco, and Freya, and referred to them as “60 pounds of fur.” Over nearly four decades in education, Lisa positively influenced the lives of thousands of young children with her nurturing heart and gentle presence.
A graveside service will take place for Lisa on Monday, July 14th, 2025 at 11 AM in the Old Fernwood Cemetery, Kingstown Rd., West Kingston, RI.
