Linda Jane Sweet

Linda J. Sweet, 79 of Charlestown, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, December 1st. She was born in South Kingstown, RI where she grew up by the water before meeting her loving husband of 59 years, John Sweet.

Linda worked at the University of Rhode Island for 23 years. She had a love for being near the water, whether it was the ocean, lake, or pond. She was an excellent cook and incredible baker, cooking many meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling and knitting. Her family will always remember her for her sense of humor and her kind and loving nature.

Besides her husband, Linda is survived by her children, Joseph Babcock (Sandra), Jane Briggs, Susan Felfia, Cheryl Sweet-Longa and Stephen Sweet (Kim) as well as 7 grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her son John Sweet Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 6th at 10:30 am in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood cemetery, Kingston, RI.
