Linda Harvey

Linda Reed Harvey, 81, of South Kingstown peacefully passed away on February 21, 2025.

Linda graduated from South Kingstown High School in 1961. She pursued her passion in the administrative field at the University of Rhode Island for 25 years, before retiring. She continued her career after retirement from the University as a legal assistant to James G. Couch, Esq. in estate planning matters for 18 years. Her dedication to her career continued as a legal assistant to James P. Howe, Esq. In civil, criminal, and personal injury matters for 11 years until her retirement in 2025.

Linda cherished her family above all else. She is survived by her loving son, Kurt J. Harvey and wife, MaryJane Brooks Harvey and her sister, Wendy Reed. She is also survived by her four adored grandchildren, Amanda Brooke Harvey Carrier, Kaitlyn Rose Harvey, Adam William Harvey and Abigail Leah Harvey, and three great-great grandchildren, Ryan and Jace Vargas-Freni, and Madison Charlotte Carrier, who were the light of her life, and she imparted to them invaluable lessons about love, laughter, and the importance of family. Her vibrant personality and sense of humor were known to all who met her. Linda's love for animals also led her to have many beloved pets who brought her joy and companionship throughout her years.

Linda is predeceased by her son, Keith G. Harvey, her parents, William Davis and Emma Mae (Barden) Reed, as well as her brother George Edward Reed, and her sister, Judith Reed Goley.

In remembrance of Linda, the family asks that you consider a donation to a charity of your choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others. Linda's life was a testament to love, compassion, and service. She will be remembered fondly by all who were blessed to know her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
