It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda Ann Gaess on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on January 21, 1943, in Dumont, New Jersey, Linda was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her sharp wit, infectious humor, and unwavering love.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Dawn Koukas (Vincent) and Donna Gaess, who were not only her children but also her best friends. Linda’s daughter Deborah Lin Coleman, who passed away prematurely in 2021, was also at the heart of her world. The bond between Linda and her daughters was one of love, laughter, and shared memories — if not without the occasional complication, as one might expect in the dynamic between a mother and her daughters.

Linda will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, TJ, Katelyn, Riley, Paige, Dayna, and Devin, as well as her extended family and many friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jeffrey R. Gaess, and her daughter Deborah Lin Coleman, with whom she is now reunited in peace.

Linda’s wit and humor were legendary. She had a remarkable ability to make others laugh, often lightening any room with a clever remark, a playful story, or a well-timed joke. Her family was always at the center of her world, and she loved them fiercely. Some of her most cherished memories were made during game nights in Upstate New York, where the house was filled with laughter, love, and the joyful noise of her grandchildren. These moments, full of warmth and togetherness, will forever be treasured by those who shared them.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 am in Elm Grove Cemetery, 960 Tower Hill Rd, North Kingstown, RI.

Linda’s spirit, humor, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of those she holds dear.
