Linda Jane Arnold

Linda J. Arnold, 67, of Cape Coral, FL, and Wakefield, RI, passed away peacefully with her family, bonus Sister, Kathy Leahy and friends by her side on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Cape Coral Hospice Center. Linda's passing was a heartbreaking loss, following complications between a stroke and a traumatic brain injury. Born in South Kingstown, RI, she was the beloved daughter of the late Alfred P. and Marie E. (Berry) Arnold.

Linda worked as an Insurance Adjuster for many years, earning the respect of her colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply committed to her community and faith. A dedicated member of the South Kingstown Assembly #6 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Linda found joy and purpose in service. As an active member of the Peace Dale Congregational Church, she served as the Sunday School Christian Education Assistant, inspiring many young minds through her love of teaching. Her involvement with the youth group was a testament to her kind heart, and she cherished the time spent on mission trips, traveling and working alongside the next generation.

Linda’s love for her family was evident in the way she spoke of them and the care she showed. She is survived by her siblings, Ellen A. Hefler of Charlestown, Mary E. Banister of West Kingston, and Richard A. Arnold (Denise Tucker) of Wakefield. She was also a devoted stepmother to Lora Balnaves of Wakefield. Her legacy continues through her nephew, Richard F. Bannister, niece, Rebecca Bannister, both of Maine, and their families. Linda also shared a special bond with her two cherished kitty cats, Butch and Sundance. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, the late John J. Hefler.

An avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, Linda found joy in sharing games with dear friends, often connecting with them over the phone, no matter the distance. Her love for sports was just another way she fostered connections with the people she cared about.

Linda’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she served so faithfully.

A memorial service will be held at Peace Dale Congregational Church 261 Columbia St., South Kingstown, on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10 AM.
