Obituary

Lillian E. Weeden (Perry) 97 of Charlestown, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Born in Westerly, RI on March 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Authur Perry and Celia (Young) Whitford. She was the beloved wife of the late George Weeden Jr. Lillian was employed for many years with the State of Rhode Island at the Ladd School. She also was an enrolled member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. Lillian loved traveling and gardening.

She is survived by Sons George S. Weeden and wife Cheryl of North Kingstown, and Joseph D. Weeden and wife Dawn of Charlestown and sisters, Betty Whitford of Providence, Juanita Monk, Alice Neves and brother Booker Williams of Newport and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by sons Raymond Weeden and Eugene Weeden, sisters Clara Skuce, Violet Ortiz, Shirley Andrews, Isabell Stanton, Elsie Hazard, and Rose Waite, brothers Edward Perry, Raymond Perry, and Authur Perry.

Visitation will be held from 10am – 11am on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St. Wakefield, RI 02879. Burial will follow at the New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston.
