Lillian M. Stenning

Lillian M. Stenning died peacefully in Westerly on January 3, 2015. She was born in Providence on October 31, 1919, a daughter of the late Lillian and William Duffey. Lillian was employed by the Nauset Regional School Department of Special Needs in Orleans, MA until her retirement. While in Orleans, she was instrumental in establishing Hospice of Cape Cod. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Marion Myers, who was a constant source of physical and emotional support, her godson, Donald Carey, and her goddaughter, Sharon Ciummo. Lillian will be missed by a loving extended family and many friends- especially those friends at Peace Dale House with whom she lived for many years. She was the loving grandmother of the late Aharon Klum and was also predeceased by her sisters, Irene Carey and Marion Thompson. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 20th at 1 p.m. in St. Peter’s By the Sea Episcopal Church, 72 Central Street, Narragansett, RI. Burial will be private.
