Lewis P. Dimon IV, 60, of South Kingstown, a lifelong fisherman out of Pt. Judith, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 31, 2014. He was the beloved son of Janice (Arnold) Dimon of Wakefield and the late Lewis P. Dimon III. Besides his mother he is survived by his children, Lewis P. Dimon V, Jennifer R. Banks, James S. Dimon, Philip G. Dimon, Timothy M. Dimon, Thomas M. Dimon, Nicholas J. Dimon and Joshua R. Dimon; ten grandchildren; brothers, John R. Dimon and Dennis J. Dimon; his companion Diane Downs and her sons, Ricky Downs and David Downs and six nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be celebrated Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Curtis Corner Baptist Church, 591 Curtis Corner Rd., Wakefield. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. A commercial fisherman all his life, he loved his family as much as he love to open sea. He lived his life like the ocean. He knew the tides like life were always changing. With every good trip there was sure to be bad one. When a storm blew in you either faced it head on or you gathered your family and crew to weather it out. The safety of his family and crews always came first. He was a loving father and grandfather. There is nothing in this world that he cared about more. He was the "adoptive father" to many of our friends growing up and was affectionately called Pops. If you were to need anything he was the first to step up and help. Whether it was video game with the boys. A phone call or hug for me. And cookies with his grandchildren. He was stubborn even when it was time to go he didn't want to give in and i will always admire that strength. I love you Dad and this is by far not good bye. The tides will change one day for us all and we will see each other again. RIP Lewis IV Dimon. May your net always be full and the waters calm.
