Lewell F. Tefft, 76, of Wakefield, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday. He was the beloved husband of Linda (Boss) Tefft for 32 years. Born in Richmond, he was a son of the late Frank and Marie (Pelletier) Tefft. Mr. Tefft was employed for the South Kingstown School Department for over 20 years, prior to retiring. In his younger years he was an avid carpenter working and repairing roofs. He enjoyed camping and gardening. Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Stephen Tefft of Florida, Robert Tefft of Richmond, and Sheila Tefft of Florida; four step-children, Tracey Barber of Wakefield, Kevin Barber of North Kingstown, Melissa Couden of California, and Christine Gould of West Kingston; five granddaughters and two great-grandsons; three sisters, Stella LaPoint of Coventry, Ethel Pettis of Wakefield, and Jean Mangino of Coventry; and two brothers, Alfred Tefft and Owen Tefft, both of West Kingston. He was the brother of the late Marguerite Remington and Gilbert Tefft. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery, Kingston. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-5 pm. Flowers welcome or memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue RI, PO Box 458, Wakefield, RI 02880.
