Leola L. Durkin

Leola L. Durkin, 89, of 1221 Saugatucket Road, Peace Dale, RI, passed away peacefully on Friday September 9, 2011, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James E. Grammer of West Palm Beach, FL, and the late Robert Durkin of Carson City, NV. Born and raised in Alabama, she was the daughter of the late G.A. Humphrey and Dorie (Gwin) Humphrey of Searles, Alabama. She was the cherished mother of two daughters, Sandra Grammer Matson and her husband William J. Matson, III of Wakefield, RI, and Constance S. Grammer of Alameda, CA; and beloved grandmother of two grandsons, William J. Matson IV of Wakefield, RI and Noah Brittan Grammer of Alameda, CA and two great grandsons, William J. Matson, V and Brian Jake Matson both of Wakefield, RI. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Louise Humphrey Webster of Wyoming, RI, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will take place at a later date at the Grammer gravesite in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery near Prude's Creek, Alabama. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
