Laura Jean Smart

Laura Smart, 63, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6th. She was born to her loving parents Harry “Hap” and Patricia “Pat” Smart on April 23, 1958 in Levittown, NY. Laura lived a beautiful life, filled with many friends, accomplishments, and memories. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, before beginning her career as a Registered Nurse at Women and Infants and then spending many years working at South County Hospital in labor and delivery. Outside of her work, Laura loved the beach, especially the ocean water, and visiting Cape Cod with her good friend Liz Diaz. She loved her three dogs Thor, Randall, and Chase, and loved to travel all over the globe. Visiting Ireland, Portugal, Croatia, Prague and with her son Will, Norway and Iceland, always letting people know that Norway was the best. Laura is survived by her parents Harry “Hap” and Patricia “Pat” Smart; her son Will Smart and his girlfriend Allie Neves, brother; Skip and wife Shirley, Niece’s; Christine Smart, Liz Hodum, Jennifer Smart and Samarah Mattison, nephew; Caden Smart, aunts; Peg Heuser and husband Hans, Judy Denton, Uncles; Mike Touhey, Ron Berry. She is pre-deceased by her brother Bobby Smart. Services and burial will be private.
