Kyle Linn Lamphere (Simonds Mauweesemum Sequettass), 30, of Norwich, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Kyle was born in Westerly, RI on April 10, 1991 to his loving parents William Lamphere Sr. and Yvonne Simonds Lamphere. Kyle graduated from Stonington High School in 2010. He was employed by the Mohegan Tribe in Protective Services since 2015. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking, the great outdoors, photography, and was an animal lover. He had an amazing voice and loved to sing (Rihanna was a favorite artist). Kyle was a proud member of the Narragansett Indian Tribe. He served on two committees; NIT Screening Committee and NIT Election Committee. At a young age he began researching genealogy which grew to be his passion. Kyle was of Narragansett, Pequot and Schaghticoke descent. Family, community, history and genealogy were at the core of who he was and how he lived his life. He was a connector who reached out to so many of his generation and beyond, forging and building relationships that will never be the same with his absence. His light will continue to shine bright forever in our hearts. He was a deeply spiritual person who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He had a smile that would light up a room. Besides his parents, Kyle is survived by his brothers and sisters: Moocheke Lamphere, Raymond Lamphere, Neechipog Lamphere, William Lamphere Jr., Kody Lamphere, Aiyanna Lamphere, Kaleb Lamphere, and Illeanna Lamphere; as well as 13 nieces and nephews and 1 great nephew. Kyle is also survived by his maternal grandmother Alice Beverly Coggswell Simonds, his chosen brothers; Jonathan Cluff, Robert “Bubs” Crooker and Omar Reyes. Kyle will also be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, German Shepherd fur babies; Dahlia, Sachem and Mercy and his many long lasting friends that became his family. Kyle was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Lawrence S. Simonds, Sr. A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11am at The Narragansett Indian Tribe Burial Grounds in Charlestown, RI. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Masks must be worn.
